Things aren't very efficient here so you can almost always plan on whatever your doing taking WAAAY longer than we are used to in America, which can be kind of a challenge with little ones. They only have a short period of "happy" that can be used up quickly when they are having to wait for long periods of time so when lunch was still going on 2 1/2 hours later... the kids were all d-o-n-e! Luckily for us, Anna Claire and Bennett have friends that live here that help make the "waiting" a little easier!
We are also so fortunate to have a small grassy yard in the back of the apartments, which is a huge deal in India. In the evenings, all the kids in the apartments go out to the back yard and there's even a little play ground and they all play for a few hours. It was so fun and such a great way to meet a lot of the families living around us! We love our new apartment! (Pictures to come soon!)
One last exciting event in our day... we finally got a refrigerator! We were really excited because we've been eating the most random things (& a lot of McDonalds) since we didn't have any way to keep food at our house! Looking forward to starting a normal routine with eating things other than chicken nuggets & pizza!
Brent and Jess,
ReplyDeleteHaving Brent's mom as a good friend, I know that this will be a wonderful year for you all to give that family sunshine to so many you meet. Looking forward to reading about your adventures and praying that the days and months ahead will be as much of a blessing to you and the kids as you all will be to everyone you minister to there.
God bless you all,
Sue
